My fate is to love, and that is my glory.
I have no other ambition, except to wish
that my love forever retain this fire.
Something spins in my breast, something presses
the matter that I possess and merges with
the pollen that roams mysteriously.
Through the loving atmosphere, a right
of one who loves and discovers even in the drop
separated from the sea that breaks all bounds
his divine desire and scintillation.
I recline in the stirring garden,
insects sleeping on the roses,
and I can guess their dreams
when my mind reaches the garden’s soul.
My fate is to love: where I meditate
I discover peace alone and never shadow.
All of creation pardons me
my tardiness in arriving at its heart,
and a warmth where I find what I want
circulates through my breast transforming me.

Mi destino es amar, y esa es mi gloria.
No ambiciono otra cosa, sólo quiero
de mi amor conservar siempre este fuego.
Algo gira en mi pecho, algo presiona
la materia que tengo y la incorpora
en el polen que rueda con misterio.
Por la atmósfera amante, privilegio
de quien ama y descubre hasta en la gota
separada del mar que se desborda,
su deseo divino y su destello.
En el jardín que bulle me recuesto
los insectos se duermen en las rosas
y sus sueños presiento cuando toca
el alma del jardín mi pensamiento.
Mi destino es amar: donde contemplo
descubro sólo paz y nunca sombra.
La creación entera me perdona
mi tardanza en llegar hasta su centro,
y un calor donde encuentro lo que quiero
